Twelve miles off shore, Monhegan Island is the second most remote island in Maine. Artists have been painting here since the 1850's, and it's been a well-established art colony for the past 115 years. Most of my favorite artists have painted here: George Bellows, Rockwell Kent, Edward Redfield, and more. I can't begin to tell you how inspirational this place is for me. I spent the summer of 2019 painting this group of works on location.
