Spent a week in the amazing town of Arles in the summer of 2018. Vincent Van Gogh was so inspired by this place that he created 200 paintings here. There was an International Photography Exhibition and an International Music Festival with venues spread around this easily walkable city. I would walk with the, camera in the mornings and early evening to try to capture the light. This neighborhood, La Roquette, was especially picturesque. I did a small study there and completed this larger painting in my studio. I love the sunbaked colors and the quality of the light.
